building a gym

Right now, I have in my possession:

1 mop stick
1 pair 3 pound hand weights

With this, I will design a small workout routine. I was thinking of tying some weight to both ends of the "bar" and lifting it. Actually, I was thinking of taking some tote bags or something, and add weight like that, using cans of the same size. As for the hand weights, I planned on using them to add weight to a small cardio boxing workout.

It's not much, but it sure is a start.

update

I weigh 268 pounds instead of the 280-ish that I originally thought. Which means, my weight loss goal has gone from 120 pounds to 108 pounds. Yes, my goal is still 160, but hopefully, that will include a lot of muscle weight.

Here's to starting.

(no subject)

So, I did it again. I nearly forgot about this journal... but I'm still here. Ah, some updates. I've not started on my goals yet, which makes me a little disappointed in myself, but I will do it. Also, I won't be joining the Y, since they want access to a bank account. I'm going to look into home gym remedies, since they seem to be they best choice.

I've nearly forgotten about this journal. But, thankfully, I didn't.

Update:

I'm making the move towards vegetarianism, slowly but surely. I'm trying to come up with a grocery list, but I've been having some problems coming up with a good one. But, I've got a little bit of something. Feel free to suggest, no really.

Marathon

I think I'm going to train for a marathon... okay, not a full one. I don't think I'd be able to do a full one. I'm not even in shape enough to do a half marathon. No, I'm going to start training, and try and make the half marathon we have, next year. That'll give me more than enough time to get healthy, and get into good condition.

So, I add this to my goal list.

Run the Preferred Care 13.1 Mile Marathon 2008 Yep, I'm going to try and do this. And, I'm going to try and make good standings.

Nike+

I'm going to get a pair of Nike+ sneakers. Mom said she was going to get me an iPod, so this would just go along with it. If you go to Nike's website, or even Apple's, you can buy the sneakers, as well as the pack that goes inside of them. I'm getting a pair, and since I need new sneakers anyway, this will kill two birds with one stone.




They're promising.

Goal List

So, I have goals for what I wish to accomplish. Everyone does, but since this is a weight loss journal, let's concentrate on those specific ones.

Bench press 100 pounds: While this sounds like a very drastic goal, I do really want to accomplish this. Yeah, it might take a while, but I'm willing to do it. Hell, I might even push up to somewhere around 150.

Drop weight to 160 pounds: I've decided that dropping down to 142, which would make me perfectly height-weight proportionate, that might be too much. I'm happy with that weight, and I'm sure my health will greatly improve along the way.

Eat more fruits and vegetables: I don't eat a lot of fresh fruits or vegetables. Well, that's probably because they're so damn expensive, but I plan to change that.

Eat less meat?: I do plan to go vegetarian, or something very close to it. I've never really liked meat all that much, so it doesn't bother me to give it up.

Generally become healthier: I just want to be a healthier man. That is my overall goal, and really, that's what everyone should be going for. Am I right?
